Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad police on Friday, December 13. Recently, during the premiere of Pushpa-2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, a stampede occurred, leading to the tragic death of a woman. The actor was accused of arriving at the theatre without prior notice, which caused a large crowd to gather.
Following the incident, authorities filed a case against the management of Sandhya Theatre, Allu Arjun, and his security team. Police officials stated that they had not been informed in advance about the presence of the film’s team at the event.
Allu Arjun expressed grief over the woman’s death and conveyed condolences to her family. He also met with the deceased, Revathi’s, family and pledged financial assistance of ₹25 lakh. The actor said he was deeply saddened by the incident and promised to cover the medical expenses of those injured.
What Happened?
On December 4, Allu Arjun reportedly visited Sandhya Theatre for the premiere of his movie without informing authorities. Excited fans rushed to meet him, leading to overcrowding at the theatre. As fans tried to enter the theatre, the crowd became uncontrollable, causing breathing difficulties for many.
The police used mild force to disperse the crowd. Once the crowd thinned, some people who had collapsed due to suffocation were taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, a woman was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Following the incident, police registered a case of culpable homicide against Allu Arjun, the theatre management, and his security agency.
